For the 34th year, the Oshkosh United Soccer Club will host the Oshkosh on the Water Soccer Classic tournament.
Nearly 200 teams and hundreds more spectators are expected to travel to Oshkosh for the three-day competitive tournament the weekend of June 8, 2018. The tournament takes place at the spacious and serene Winnebago County Community Park, Oshkosh WI.
Beginning at 5 p.m. Friday, June 8 and running all day Saturday, June 9, and Sunday, June 10, the soccer fields at Winnebago County Park will close and transform into spectator-lined fields of competitive play. Teams from the Fox Valley, Wisconsin and beyond will travel to Oshkosh and take the pitch for their chance at grabbing glory, and earn a coveted On the Water trophy.
In 2017, more than 160 teams of boys and girls, aged 7 to 19, brought an estimated 6,000 people to Oshkosh for the weekend. The 2018 edition is expected to be one of the state’s largest soccer tournaments – besting last year’s highly successful event.
The largest addition to the 2018 edition is a 20-foot tall inflatable soccer darts board. With its giant Velcro bulls-eye, the board is sure to test aiming skills of all challengers. Its darts you play with your feet!
Current sponsors for the event include The Oshkosh Convention & Visitors Bureau, Dick’s Sporting Goods, DQ Grill & Chill, The Outlet Shoppes at Oshkosh, and Sawyer Creek Orthodontics.
